Eric Chevalier "Pièce de l'Orée" Pinot Noir 2022
Taking over the family estate was certainly beneficial for Éric Chevalier. Now one of the rising stars of the region, he focuses on the expression of the terroirs, and shows us once again that he has mastered not only Bourgogne, but also the art of making straight, digestible and uncompromising wines. Here is a silky and very fresh Pinot Noir, highlighting notes of strawberry, cherry, flowers and spices, with floral and mineral notes. A fresh and captivating expression of Pinot Noir that makes you want to dive into the glass. Serve it chilled for maximum pleasure.
Domaine Eric Chevalier is located in the Muscadet Côtes de Grand Lieu appellation area, in the Loire Valley. In 2006, Eric Chevalier settled back into his family vineyard after 10 years of experience in wine trading. His sister, Gaëlle, joined him in 2008, leaving an IT job to return to the vineyards. The vineyard is certified organic. The rich and diverse landscape, inherited from an agricultural history of mixed farming, is home to natural biodiversity and auxiliary fauna. In 2017, they planted an orchard and a 1.5 hectare grove to promote this biodiversity.
La Pièce de l'Orée is made from Pinot Noir from vines between 10 and 30 years old. After manual harvesting, maceration is carried out in whole clusters.
