Day Wines "Vin De Days" Blanc 2024

This aromatic blend of Pinot Gris, Riesling, Pinot Blanc and more is a tip of the cap to Alsace. Yellow and pink apple, juicy yellow peach, apricot, popcorn and exotic floral wildness dominate the nose. The palate reflects the nose with the addition of spicy ginger, lemon oil and cherry blossom, joined by bursts of apple blossom and white clover. There's a mild sweetness to flavors of lemon drops, peach pastilles and fresh-grated ginger.

This is an Alsatian-style white blend of 27% Pinot Blanc, 22% Müller Thurgau, 19% Riesling, 16% Muscat and 16% Pinot Gris from several gorgeous vineyards around the Willamette Valley. Each vineyard was picked when the fruit was optimal, with the overall blend in mind. Thus, some fruit was picked for its aromatics, some for its acid and some for its fruit characteristics. Native-yeast fermentation. Unfiltered. Low-sulfur. This bone-dry iteration offers bright, fresh fruit, keen aromatics, mouth-watering acidity and a clean, mineral finish. A wine designed to both enjoy as a cocktail wine or patio sipper, and to complement a wide array of dishes, the Vin de Days Blanc is ready for any and all occasions.

Grapes were direct-pressed into stainless steel tanks without any sulfur addition, then settled for 24 hours. After racking off the gross lees, the juice is pitched into a stainless-steel tank for natural co-fermentation. This blend is co-fermented. Each successive varietal is added into the same tank, building the yeast culture with fresh sugars. This vintage was allowed to complete malolactic fermentation and bottled filtered, with minimal sulfur. Aged for only a few months in stainless-steel tanks, this wine is designed to drink in its youth.
