Domaine Gérard & Hubert Thirot Sancerre 2024
The Domaine Gérard et Hubert Thirot Sancerre is a classic Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc, known for its delicate mineral notes of chalk and slate, with good citrus, peach and melon in the nose. Fairly rich in the middle with nice snap. Refreshing acidity reflects the stony clay and limestone soils from the Bué village area.
Domaine Gérard & Hubert Thirot is located in Bue, in the Sancerre appellation, in the Loire Valley, France. Bue is famous for its hills, perfect for growing grapes, with great sun exposure and protection from the elements. The soil there is very rich in minerality, composed mainly of clay and chalk, as well as small rocks, which give the wines their acclaimed typicality. Hubert Thirot is the fourth generation running the estate, producing classic Sancerre from the nine hectares of Sauvignon Blanc the family owns.
