Lieu Dit Chenin Blanc 2023

The 2022 Chenin Blanc is deep and textured. Pear, chamomile, dried herbs, menthol, sage and earthy notes all grace this super-expressive, immensely satisfying Chenin. All the elements are very nicely balanced. This is a flashy, orchard-fruited and slightly tropical expression of Chenin Blanc. The texture splits the difference between oily power and spry energy, finishing on a crisp, pretty note.

Lieu Dit's Chenin Blanc comes from two vineyards in the Happy Canyon AVA, at the far eastern reaches of the Santa Ynez Valley. Fermented with native yeast in stainless steel tank and neutral oak barrel. Aged in neutral French oak during the winter and racked into stainless steel in the spring, this wine is ripping with freshness; a touch of malo adds just the right amount of creaminess, and at 13% alcohol this will pair nicely with holiday meals.
