The Petit Chablis from Roland Lavantureux is like a Bourgogne blanc from Antoine Jobard or Jean-Marc Roulot -- a delicious, meticulously crafted wine that offers a taste of the magic found in the domaine’s more exclusive wines, with all the refreshing minerality and stoniness that is the hallmark of cool-climate Chardonnay grown on limestone. An attractive, floral, mineral-textured wine with plenty of fresh citrus and apple acidity.

Roland Lavantureux treats his Petit vines just as he does his other holdings in Chablis, which makes sense seeing as so many of them are near one another. This comes from vines an average age of thirty years old and is all aged in stainless steel, which keeps the wine flinty and charged with freshness. Great purity of fruit and limestone notes.
