The origin of the vine is very ancient: proof of this is that the writer Andrea Bracci (1595), in his work De naturali vinorum historia de vinis italiae, refers to the Trebulano wine which the Romans indicated as wine coming from the city of Trebula (today Treglia – Campania). Sante Lacerno, the sommelier of Pope Paul III (1549), when speaking about Trebbiano, wrote: “This sort of wine is delicate to drink, golden, with a not too sharp, sweet smell , not sweet, not aggressive. His Holiness willingly drank them in the fall.

Cantina Orsogna was formed as a cooperative of 600 farmers in 1964, who all shared the same goal of conservation and a reverence for organic and biodynamic winemaking. This came in hand with the place - Majella National Park, one of the largest and most diverse parks in all of Italy. The farmers settled here to aid in their mission and have not looked back.
