Casa Mariol Vermut Negra
From Catalunya, Terra Alta, Spain, Casa Mariol Vermut Negra has a beautiful, mahogany color with chestnut tones and aromas of thyme and vanilla, gentle notes of orange peel, cinnamon, licorice and clove. A nutty, concentrated, raisin-like flavor profile, full of black cherry cola nuts, citrus, herbs, walnuts, spices and roasted apple. Very refreshing acidity, very well balanced, rounded, complex and with a strong personality. A nice mild bitterness, loads of Christmas spice character, not overly sweet, a nice bright acidity on the palate that a lot of other sweet vermouths lack. Slight bitter touch at the finish with caramel notes.
Based on Macabeo, aged in 100-year-old Solera to impart deep character and consistency, made with sun-dried green walnuts and 150 local herbs. Traditionally drunk in the afternoon with seltzer, an orange slice and an olive.
