Jester King "Black Metal" Imperial Stout

Black Metal, a.k.a. Suds of Northern Darkness, a.k.a. Iron Sword, a.k.a. Blackened Death, a.k.a. El Martillo del Muerte, is a cruel and punishing Russian Imperial Stout fermented by the sheer force of its awesome will. First brewed when Jester King opened in 2010, it's back for 2025. It pours pitch-black with a tight mocha cap: espresso crema, baker’s chocolate, burnt sugar, leather and a flicker of dried cherry over dense, roasty grain. Full-bodied warmth, firm bitterness, and a surprisingly dry, clean finish — no mercy. Brewed with well water, Maris Otter malt, English caramel, brown and black malts, roasted barley and East Kent Goldings hops. It is fermented in stainless steel with English yeast. Best enjoyed while pumping out blast beats, summoning trolls or enjoying a nice, leisurely reading of the Necronomicon.
